"Vegetable Tanned" just means that during the tanning process is was tanned with naturally occurring compounds, or tannins, from organic materials like tree bark, roots, nuts, and berries. It's the oldest and most traditional form of tanning, which is why veg-tanned leather is often considered a classic shop staple. It is also free of harsh chemicals making it better for you and the environment
